Goodbye to the blue bullet
I usually don't post anything overly personal on the blog but we had a loss in our little family this weekend and I thought I would share some thoughts.
We have two beautiful crazy Weimeraners and the youngest of the two - Vegas - was hit by a car and died this past Saturday. Being an over the top dog lover it has been super hard on us and we will always keep a part of her in our hearts!
Here are some of my favorite things about her:
Her overwhelming zeal and zest at every moment of every day.
The way she couldn't get comfortable sleeping on the bed with you unless she was curled up under the covers tucked between two humans with her head on a pillow.
Her boundless energy and speed. She just loved to run, and run and run. She was sooo fast and would run at you and then swerve around in order to not knock you down.
How much she loved and adored her older dog brother Cooper - she was just beside herself when he wasn't around.
How gentle and sweet she was with our one year old. She would let the baby crawl over her and hit her (she thought she was petting her) and would lay perfectly still.
How fun it was to take her swimming in the river, fetching sticks - she loved it. When we walked she knew about a 100 yards out when we were close to the doggy swimming spot and would sprint full speed ahead into the water.
How hilarious she was jumping up and tearing down the cattails in our yard. She had a vertical jump to rival Michael Jordans.
How dainty she was compared to our other big horse of a dog - he sucks down water with the gusto of a hoover vacuum and she sipped it ever so daintily.
I loved how she could curl her giant body into a tiny little ball and look like she could fit into your purse when she was sleeping on the couch.
I loved how every night as the night was winding down the click of the tv turning off would wake her instantaneously and she would be immediately at your side knowing it was time for bed.
How sweet, lovable and loyal to a fault she was to our family.
Our little blue bullet you will be greatly missed. I hope there is a dog heaven and that you have lots of space to run, swim and play with all kinds of dog friends! We loved you!
